I started training with Brent Durran in 2006 when I needed to lose weight and
improve my fitness. By following his advice which meant improving my diet,
keeping a food diary and exercise regularly with cardio and weights workouts, I
lost 30kgs in a year.I also changed from being a non
runner to "happily" taking part in fun runs and several half marathons and
completed a full marathon.
Brent has been a consistent, enthusiastic and supportive motivator with sound
advice regarding recovery, injury prevention, hydration and nutrition.
I have achieved goals and fitness levels that I would have never got to on my
own. Training has been challenging and fun.

I
considered personal training for a long time before I took the plunge and
decided to give it a go. I always liked the idea of having someone to take you
that bit further but then reassured myself I was motivated enough to not need a
personal trainer and couldn’t help but think it was all a bit of a ‘hype’.
I finally decided
to ‘try it out’ after I met Brent
who generously offered some advice at the gym when I asked about training to
minimise injury. One year later my only regret about personal training
with Brent
is that I should have done it sooner!!
Brent
very quickly proved that I could train to strengthen my weaknesses and through
this helped me to prove to myself that I had a lot more potential than what I
gave myself credit. By doing so
Brent
not only proved my doubts to be wrong he far exceeded any expectations I had of
personal training.
My
experience has been fundamentally life changing. Not only have I gained
strength and fitness far beyond what I ever thought I was capable of achieving
but also, this strength has unexpectedly transcended to an emotional and
psychological level. This has helped me to benefit well beyond just my physical
fitness and into many other facets of my life.
Training with Brent challenges all those ‘demons’ that long hold so many of us
back from getting the most out of life. Now that I have experienced training
with Brent I will never look at exercise, fitness and ‘my potential to
achieve’ the same. I thought I knew what my body and mind were capable of
but now I have realised there is a whole new world out there!
Brent
has this incredible ability in understanding your potential and your goals
(including goals you didn’t even know you had!!) whilst being sympathetic to
your doubts and weaknesses without letting them get in the way!!
I
feel very fortunate to have found a trainer with the experience, attention to
detail, passion, knowledge, dedication, commitment, generosity, humour and most
of all professionalism that Brent delivers 100% of the time!! I would recommend
it to anybody who wants to improve not just their fitness but also their quality
of life on all levels. I am forever indebted!

Four years ago the ATO in their wisdom sent me a cheque for $300.00.
Little did they know that this was the beginning of a beautiful
relationship. I have always exercised, but thought six
personal training sessions would be a good push along, and so I
approached Brent
Durran for some expertise and assistance. What a journey I
have had over that time, only missing my weekly session for
holidays, his and mine. My fitness and strength have increased
enormously, plus knowledge of how to train efficiently, effectively
and safely are added bonuses. In January of this year I
planned to spend my fiftieth birthday doing something that I enjoyed
and was memorable, and so the specially designed training sessions
began for preparing to walk the Kokoda trail. I thought I was
reasonably fit, but Brent
certainly showed me I was capable of much much more. Not only
did I achieve my goal but did it enjoyably (Which I think was his).
I guess the fantastic thing about having a trainer like
Brent is he
stops you from becoming complacent about exercise. Just when
you think you are getting on top of it, achieved a good level, he
pushes that lever and off you go somewhere else, exhausted, but
incredibly satisfied.
Brent takes me
somewhere for that hour a week where I can’t take myself. This
weekly session has become part of my routine, and for me an absolute
necessity for my way of life. I look forward to continuing,
with many challenges ahead, and hope that this inspirational trainer
is still doing his job for many years. Thanks
